Broncos vs. Seahawks: Who Ya Got?
I think everybody in America knows by now that the Super Bowl is going to be Broncos and Seahawks. How does everyone feel about this matchup? We've got polarizing guys on either team with Manning and Richard Sherman. Say all you want about Manning being one of the most beloved NFL players, he's also one of the most hated in addition to being one of the most criticized for his postseason play. Personally, I've always been a fan. He has always made his teams look much better than they actually are, especially in Indianapolis. What happened when he was out for the season? They went from a guaranteed 10-12 win team to squeaking out 2 wins at the end of the year. And keep in mind that when Tom Brady went down the Patriots were still a playoff team.
On the other side of the ball you've got Richard Sherman, who might be the most abrasive, arrogant piece of shit in the NFL. I gotta be honest though, I love Sherman. I have absolutely zero problem with a guy that talks mad shit to anyone and everyone and then goes out and proves himself right. Randy Moss, Deion Sanders, any player for the University of Miami in the mid to late 80s and early 90s. Oh no, they're being overly confident and brutally honest about how dominant they are! Please. Unless you're talking trash and then getting burned, then I say fuck the h8ers, do you homie.
In the end I think the Seahawks are a great team and the Legion of Boom is hands down the best secondary in the league. But with that said, they're dominant at home and beatable on the road. And at the same time, they are also going up against what is by far the best aerial attack in the league. No other team has as many weapons as the Broncos, and no quarterback spreads the ball like Peyton. And as good as the Seahawks are, they haven't had to defend anything like this all year.
My prediction: Peyton wins his second Super Bowl, solidifies his legacy as one of, if not the best quarterback of all time, Richard Sherman reveals flaws in his game and then makes some postgame statement vowing to be back and get his. Russ Wilson is great, but the Super Bowl is an entirely different kind of monster compared to what he is used to and I just don't see him having enough experience or composure to pull it off.
Hey Seattle, HE WANTS YOU!
PS - The resemblance is uncanny.
