Brandon Marshall Claims Deion Sanders Couldn't Guard Him
So I couldn't get the video of this off of NFL.com but after B-Marsh got picked by Jerry Rice for the Pro Bowl, he decided to do my favorite thing of all time and talk a little shit to Primetime. Fuck me, I love shit-talking so God damned much! Anyway, here's what he had to say:
"You couldn't guard me, and them DBs you picked, they're not going to be able to guard me."
Maybe this is just because I'm a homer and he plays for the Bears, but I actually think Brandon might be right on this one. Seriously. You don't get seven straight 1,000 yard seasons by accident, and in five of those he had 100+ catches. Those types of numbers are insane. And the craziest part is that it doesn't look like he's slowing down at all, he actually might be coming into his most productive years after finally getting a secondary threat on the other side of the field in Alshon Jeffery. Sometimes Alshon is going to take away touches from Brandon, yes, but he is also opening up a lot more one on one opportunities for him too, something that he hasn't ever had before. Obviously in his prime Deion was the best ever, but how many 6'4, jacked, ridonkulously athletic receivers did he have to guard back in the day? My guess is probably not a ton. And I'm not saying Richard Sherman is anywhere close to being near the same caliber DB as Deion, but the last time he and B-Marsh met, my man torched his ass for 10 catches and 165 yards. And if Sherman is the best shutdown corner in the game today, then what does that say about how good Marshall really is?
