Girls High School Basketball Bit One of His Players Faces

Leake Academy coach Doyle Wolverton reached a rare milestone in his career Wednesday evening when his girls basketball team defeated Columbia Academy to tally his 1,000 victory.

(Source) - Doyle Wolverton—the second-winningest coach in girls high school basketball—resigned as head coach of Leake Academy after allegedly biting his own player's face during a game Tuesday. Leake County, Miss. (not FL, amazingly) sheriff Greg Waggoner informed the Clarion-Ledger of the resignation, though Wolverton would not comment. Waggoner also said a deputy had a picture showing bite marks "consistent with a human."

Phil Jackson played it cool, Coach K screams in his players faces the entire game, Bobby Knight threw chairs, Mike Rice threw basketballs.  And Doyle Wolverton bites his players faces.  All the greats have their approach to coaching.  There's only one question: are the results worth the price paid?  Keep in mind that this is one of the most dominant high school girl's basketball coaches in the country.  That kind of speaks for itself doesn't it?  It's simple, if your players two options are play well or have your coach try to bite your face off then you are going to get one hundred percent out of them on every single play.

"What? Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?"
