La La Anthony Says Melo is "Definitely" Staying with the Knicks

(Source) - La La Anthony "definitely" thinks her husband, free-agent-to-be Carmelo Anthony, will re-sign with the New York Knicks this summer.
"I definitely think he will stay," La La Anthony said in an interview with Bravo TV's "Watch What Happens Live." "I know that he wants to stay, and I support him wherever he wants to go.

I know what you're thinking.  Hey Slim, you're from Chicago, what are you doing blogging about Melo staying in New York?  Um, because this would be fucking amazing, that's why.  Everyone is blowing this guy right now because he just dropped 62 in all of our faces the other night, but keep in mind it was against the Bobcats aka the NBA's poster team for mediocrity.  And if you argue that they're better this year because they aren't in last place then just keep your comments to yourself.  19-27 isn't something to be proud of, especially when you started 14-15.

Melo can flat out score.  I'm not going to lie straight to your face and tell you that he won't put up 25-30 a game because he will every single year, but it's the way he does it that makes me want him to stay the fuck in New York and off of the Bulls.  Make no bones about it, he's an offensive cancer.  The list of reasons why Melo is a good player is one item long: he can score.  Meanwhile the list of why he's exactly the type of player you shouldn't want has a little bit more substance: he plays terrible defense (that's generous considering he really doesn't play defense at all), he has absolutely zero passing ability, he holds the ball for his shot instead of allowing the offense to develop, he is extremely inconsistent, and finally, he has made it more than clear that his main concern is getting paid and not winning championships.  It's literally impossible to run a legitimate system with him on the floor.  Isn't it peculiar to anyone else that the Nuggets actually got much better once he left the team?  It's not like they brought in other superstars to replace him, it was the fact that the other players finally got to play since he wasn't suffocating the offense with wasted shot clocks, missed opportunities, and the 25 shots he took for himself day in and day out.

Thanks but no thanks.  Carmelo can keep his 30 pts. per game in NY and leave me with Thibodeau and a smorgasbord of scrappy role players. Guess who wins more games?  Hint: it's the Bulls every single time. Scoring 62 points is impressive as fuck, no doubt, but you know what isn't?  The fact that the Knicks are 17-27 with no clear evidence that they are going to make a playoff run.  Superstars are superstars for a reason - they put the team on their back and extend seasons into the playoffs.  The Mavs with Dirk, playoffs. The Cavs with LeBron, playoffs. The Bulls with Derrick Rose (pre-injuries), playoffs.  The Lakers when it was just Kobe, playoffs.  But the thing is, at the end of the day Melo is not on that same level with those guys so I'm not willing to bring him to my team and pay him as if he was.  It's as simple as that.
